Marcello Fois and Gigliola Sulis

The Engagement/Function/Role of the Intellectual in Contemporary Italian Society, a dialogue between the writer Professor MarcelloFois and the academic Dr Gigliola Sulis of Leeds University, will take place on Wednesday 23 March at 5pm in the Neill / Hoey Lecture Theatre, Trinity Long Room Hub. Postgraduate Talks in the Italian Department

The Italian Department will host a Postgraduate Research Seminar on Wednesday 16 March from 3 to 5 pm in Room 3126, the Arts Building. The programme includes the following three talks:

  • Reasoning and rhetoric in the Italian women’s suffrage movement: patterns from the ‘Unione Femminile’ survey (1903-1905), by Emer Delaney.
  • Between life and death: liminal figures in Emma Dante’s ‘Vita mia’, by Brenda Donohue.
  • Some notes on translating ‘Voss’, by Giulia Zuodar.
